Vigorous exercises such as hiking, running, and walking pose challenges to numerous physiological systems including the cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal systems. By progressively increasing mechanical loads on weight-bearing structures (including the lumbar spinal vertebra, pelvis, thigh bones, shin bones, and ankle bones), these exercises also engage metabolic pathways involved in production of new bone. Regular chiropractic care helps ensure that your body effectively meets the various physiological demands imposed by our exercise activities.
In order for all our internal systems to work at peak capacity and efficiency, our organs, tissues, and cells must receive and transmit timely information from and to our body's master system, the nerve system. But spinal misalignments may irritate spinal nerves, causing nerve interference and disrupting the free flow of signals across critical neurological networks. Such disruptions may lead to pain, interfere with our ability to exercise effectively, and interfere with our ability to gain the numerous benefits of exercise. By detecting and correcting such spinal misalignments (Subluxations), regular chiropractic care helps our bodies function at optimal levels and gain the most from the valuable time we're spending on our exercise activities. As a result, regular chiropractic care contributes substantially to our long-term health and well-being.
Did you know that legally prescribed opioids have become gateway drugs for heroin? Or that it’s almost as if OxyContin was designed to create addiction in at least half of its users? And the manufacturer knew it — and took actions that increased its addictive power? Or that morphine, probably the most commonly prescribed pain medication, may actually prolong pain?
From its beginnings, more than 120 years ago, Chiropractic has been committed to drug-free approaches that appear to have a salutogenic effect on human (and animal) health — and ALSO relieve or reduce a wide range of pain.
Even the FDA is saying that NON-MEDICAL and NON-CHEMICAL approaches should be tried FIRST. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics recently published a landmark study demonstrating Chiropractic’s role in reducing opioid use and, by extension, reducing addiction.
Now, more than ever, Chiropractic’s role as a primary partner in heath is undeniable

Our Hackensack chiropractors have experience treating a variety of patient pain conditions, including Sciatica and hip pain. While alleviating pain from sciatica, a misaligned spine, sports injury or other personal injury may be reasons people visit our chiropractic office. However, our clients do not need to be in any type of a pain to benefit from our services that promote good health. Good health is the key to preventing future incidents of pain, illness, and disease while it allows our patients to enjoy the fullest mobility, flexibility, and activity possible.
Our clinic is equipped with a technology known as Myovision, which is incredibly beneficial during the initial visit to give our doctors a detailed electromyography scan of the paraspinal muscles in the neck and back. This is an objective measure of the tension within your muscles and it also reveals the lack of muscle balance present in the patients body. This Myovision technology will be used to establish a baseline and to objectify progress taking the guess work out of our treatment plan. In addition, a complete chiropractic exam also includes a testing of the patient's reflexes and ability to bend and turn along with standard orthopedic, postural, physical, and neurological assessments.
Treatments at our Hackensack clinic include decompression (to eliminate the pressure on your disc and nerve roots), cervical and lumbar spine adjustments, extremity adjusting, sports therapy, muscle stimulation, orthotics, wellness/pro-active care, and advanced and highly specialized chiropractic treatments (ie. MUA) when indicated that are not always offered at many clinics.
Manipulation under anesthesia, or M.U.A., is one of our techniques that can benefit patients who suffer from chronic back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain or overall pain. It's been especially effective for clients for which traditional methods of treatment or other chiropractic techniques have not fully succeeded. The procedure is performed in a New Jersey State surgery center that is fully staffed with nurses and board certified anesthesiologist. Using a light dose of anesthesia to instantly and fully relax the entire body, allowing our chiropractor to painlessly and quickly administer the spinal and joint manipulations, that may be too painful without the anesthesia, to the appropriate areas.
Another specialized treatment method offered by our chiropractors is the Graston Technique. Originally developed by athletes, the Graston Technique is a patented form of treatment that uses specialized surgical steel instruments that help detect and treat soft tissue injuries. The instruments assist the doctor in identifying the area of adhesion and then helps break down areas of adhesion/scar tissue and fascial restrictions.
Although our specialized techniques can help a wide range of ailments, remember a trip to our chiropractor does not have to come from pain. It can instead stem from the desire to remain as healthy and as active as possible.
