I had a patient call me about severe pain below her ribs on the right which started after she was bare hugged by a very large and strong family member.  She stated that she heard her ribs pop during the incident and she was not able to bend, tie her shoes, sit or sleep without severe pain and breathing was very difficult.  

After my exam I sent her for X-rays, negative, followed by a CT scan, negative as well.  

I proceeded to evaluate her rib cage for symmetry and discovered that her 5 and 6th ribs were compressing the nerve on the right.  I was able to follow the pain into her upper back as well.  Using my special tables I was able to re-position her ribs with little to no pain.   She was able to get up from the table with more than a 50% improvement and was able to perform the movements that originally aggravated her pain with almost no pain.
